Have a goal?

Teach people to achieve that goal while you are working toward achieving it.

Proposition the goal. See if other people would buy the lessons you are learning by making public posts pre-selling your offer.

Do this at the beginning. No orders? Pick a different offer or change the goal.

Does it already exist? Can you make it better?

Do this with everything. A blog post is an offer. Which is just something of value that a reader trades their time for.

So you post the title only. See who clicks.

“I want to make my servers controlled by Ansible without ever logging in”

Ask your why?

Why is where your value comes from.

Why do I want to make my servers controlled by Ansible without ever logging in?

Because it saves time. And time = money

How does it accomplish your why?

Takes about 10-15 minutes to do this process manually. If I do 100 servers, that would take me 1,000-1,500 minutes.

1,000 servers? 10,000 to 15,000 minutes.

A normal Linux sysadmin makes 75k or $36 per hour. 160-250 hours would cost

$5,760-$9,000

Just for that one small price of the IT pie.

Does your customer care? If your target customer doesn’t plan to have 1,000 servers, then they wouldn’t are about this offer.

So the high-end offer would be “Save $9,000 prepping your servers for Ansible Automation”

Target is a company that has IT staff that use Ansible to automate server configuration.
